CS Writes For You

In high school, I studied Business and learned shorthand and typing because I did not want to go to college. I was ready to go out into the world and make a living. But when I started working, I found out that I was considered a pretty face and my brains and creativity were not wanted. I had always wanted to become a writer but did not know how to get in the door (I applied at newspapers, magazines and publishing companies in NYC to no avail) so college at night became my way to obtain the job I love.

Soon I met my mentor, Rannette Nicholas, who encouraged me to complete college and also taught me how to set up and run an office, teach seminars and workshops, sell and become a writer and PR Manager. She inspired me to dare to live my dreams and challenged me continually for the next 40 years to take on more and more responsibilities.

I found out that I love to speak and teach audiences experiential, transformational, personal growth and interactive workshops (about Aromatherapy, Healing Trauma and Chronic Pain, Anti-Trafficking, Creating New Realities: Shedding the Past, Freedom Eating, Getting Published, Relationship Realities, Goal Setting that Works, Expressing Emotions: Anger and Assertiveness, Enneagram: Personality Types, Successful Living). And write and edit articles, press releases, books and website copy as well as spearhead new projects, supervise teams, design and layout newspapers and newsletters, and teach myself and others social media and software (Adobe InDesign, Pagemaker, PhotoShop, Alfresco, High Rise, Mail Chimp, MS Word, MyEmma, Pages, PowerPoint, Skype, Slack, Vimeo, Word Press and public relations-focused tools such as PR Newswire and Cision) and manage an office.

I am equally happy writing about diverse topics such as travel, health, dogs, business, angel, equine and goat therapy, writing, alternative energy and homes, homelessness, nuclear waste and anti-trafficking to reviewing books, movies, food, pet products and /or B&B’s, interviewing mayors, celebrities and best-selling authors (Dr. Doreen Virtue, Dr. Wayne Dyer,  Dr. Patch Adams, Dr. Zhi Gang Sha, Dr. Frank Shallenberger, Ralph Nader, Dr. Glenn Rothfeld, Chris Griscom, Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum, Dr. John Upledger, John Robbins, Lucia Capacchione, Debbie Reynolds, Barry Manilow, Sharon Gless, Og Mandino, Rev. Ike, Rannette and Dafydd Nicholas), researching odd topics, organizing and promoting events, writing and editing grants, newsletters and website copy for businesses and non-profits (Head Start, Freedom Collaborative, EarthSave, Citizen Alert and Women Writers West) and building valuable media relationships (and being interviewed). I have never met a deadline that I did not keep and a budget that I could not work with.

I love obtaining media coverage for clients in national and local newspapers and magazines such as O, Parents, Entrepreneur, Traditional Home, Build, In Style, E magazine, and Las Vegas Review Journal, NY Times, LA Times, and Atlanta Journal Constitution. My work has also been featured online at Vox Media and in newspapers including the Reno Gazette Journal, Las Vegas SUN, Auburn Journal, Nevada Appeal, Boca Raton News, Monterey County Weekly and magazines such as Real Woman, Nevada Business magazine, In Light Times, NorthBayBiz magazine, Bay Woof, Coastal Canine and blogs online.
